Welcome to Rwanda Drive & Tours. By accessing our services, renting our vehicles, or booking our tour packages, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service.
1. Driver Requirements & Age Restrictions
- The minimum age to rent a self-drive vehicle is 21 years.
- The driver must hold a valid domestic driver's license or an International Driving Permit (IDP) showing at least 2 years of active driving experience.
- Copies of driver's license and passport must be uploaded or presented physically prior to vehicle release.
2. Vehicle Use & Geographical Restrictions
- All self-drive vehicles are restricted to travel within the borders of the Republic of Rwanda. Cross-border rentals are prohibited without written authorization and supplementary cross-border insurance.
- Vehicles must not be driven off-road (excluding standard gravel roads in national parks) or used for towing, commercial carriage of goods, racing, or any illegal activity.
- The client must check engine oil, water coolant levels, and tire pressure daily during the rental period.
3. Insurance and Liability
- Our rental fleet is covered by comprehensive local vehicle insurance. However, the client is liable for a security excess deposit of $500 in the event of an accident where the client is at fault or for single-vehicle damage.
- Tire punctures, wheel damage, interior stains, and loss of vehicle keys are not covered by insurance and remain the 100% financial responsibility of the client.
- In case of a mechanical failure or accident, the client must notify Rwanda Drive & Tours immediately before undertaking any local repairs or adjustments.
4. Payments, Security Deposits & Fuel Policy
- Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of a deposit or full payment as specified in your quote confirmation.
- We accept cash (USD or RWF), Mobile Money (Momo), and bank transfers. Credit card transactions may incur a surcharge.
- Fuel policy: Vehicles are delivered with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank. Otherwise, a refueling charge will apply.
